Outfit Of The Day: Scarf Shirt

Shirt: L.A.M.B.
Shorts: Mossimo at Target {similar style here} {last seen here}
Shoes: Nine West "Tapestrtj" {last seen here}
Sunglasses: Tom Ford "Anouk" {last seen here}
Bracelet 1: Purchased in Mexico
Bracelet 2: Vintage
Chi-puppy: Friend's sister's dog

This shirt was thrifted from a friend's closet.  A year ago I said I wanted it when she was doing a closet clean-out, but she wasn't ready to part with it.  I said, "Okay, one more year.....if you haven't worn it by then, it's mine."  It's been a year and now.....it's mine!  Both of us were very confused by it....this weird scarf/sash thing - what to do with it?  There must be endless ways to wrap it, yes?  There must be lots of options, right?  Well, my google powers cracked the case, the tale of the mysterious scarfed shirt, and discovered it was from the L.A.M.B. Spring 2006 runway (albeit, in a different fabric, but the same style, nonetheless).  Excitedly, I was hoping to unlock the secret of the scarf.  Well, there is none!  None, no mystery.  This scarf is supposed to drape along like a train in the back...what?  How is that practical?  Not to mention at my 5'4"-ish stature, a good few feet of it trails along the ground.  I'm more than underwhelmed here.
So, readers, my question to you is: do you think I should cut the scarf part off, hem the raw edge, and wear it, well, as a scarf?  Like a legitimate scarf?  I do love the fabric.  Today I threw it over my shoulder, not being sure what else to do with it.

And if you missed the blog sale, you can find it here!

Love the fabric. I would probably cut/hem, and wear as a regular scarf.

One day I will have photos as good as yours *mantra to self*… I think I would cut the scarf. I would wear it with the shirt and also can complement with other things in my closet.

Cute! Could you wrap the fabric around your waist a few times and tie it in a knot or bow so that it doesn't drag? Maybe that wouldn't work...I can't quite tell where the scarf is attached to the shirt!

I think this is an awesome top and I wouldn't cut off the back drape portion. I would suggest turning this into a more dressier top with a pencil skirt and heels with fancy jewelry to turn it into a cocktail/after 5 outfit!

Hi, I would cut the scarf part off. The reasons being, that part of the top looks added on and to me does not quite fit the style of the rest of the top, also, it seems to add bulk to your figure (if that is possible, because you are a very small size). I would use the extra fabric as a true scarf with a leather jacket or cardi. Hope that helps, Char.
