I went to see an afternoon performance of CoppĂ©lia by a local community ballet company.  The director of the company was the prima ballerina (awarded the title by Dame Margot Fonteyn and she also danced with Mikhail Baryshnikov [probably the most famous male dancer of the 20th century, but if you don't know him from ballet, you may recognize him as Aleksandr Petrovsky from Sex and the City]) of the Atlanta Ballet back in the '70s-'90s.  I grew up watching this ballerina on stage (my mom bought season tickets to the ballet every year in the '80s and early '90s).  When I was 10 (1991), I danced in the ATL Ballet's The Nutcracker (Balanchine version), but the prima ballerina had an injury that year.  As I was dressed in my Angel costume ready to open the second act, Land of Sweets, she was backstage coaching other dancers.  I remember that very vividly because I was in awe of her, but of course too scared to talk to her.

Today during intermission, I approached her and introduced myself and told her how I grew up watching her.  She was very sweet and and "awwwed" at my story.  I'm glad I approached her, even though it was 20 years later. ;-)

In other news, I recently joined Twitter.  Find me there @thedapperbun!

You look fantastic! I love that dress...very ballerina-esque:)
I think I remember seeing it in the store, but not buying it because I figured I'd never have anywhere to wear it!

Can you be amy more gorgeous? I love the cat sun glasses and leather jacket the most. Paired with this pink dress adds such a soft look to the rocker chic image. Great ensemble. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, I remember watching Maniya Barredo as a young girl in Asia, if she is the one you are referring to. But I've actually danced with Baryshnikov! ... well, not really, but I've danced next to him in ballet class several times from when I used to live in NYC ;-) Used to trip over his dance bag and massage balls in awe ;-)

Love that Rodarte from Target dress and the fabulous clutch.
