Skirt: Thrifted and altered {DIY here}
Coat: Vintage 1960s, made by my grandmother {similar here} {and here}

Fleece-Lined Tights: Ellen Tracy {similar here}
Necklaces: Vintage and Temple St. Clair for Target {try here}
Bracelets: Vintage
Earrings: Amrita Singh "East Hampton" in Coral {here}
Watch: Michael Kors "MK4250" {here}

I'm starting out the new year with a vintage coat - but not just any. This houndstooth coat was made by my grandmother for my mother in the 1960s! It even had a matching shift dress which has long since disappeared, but the coat stuck around. This Fall, My mom and I stumbled upon this Ralph Lauren ad below while browsing a fashion magazine - the coat is practically the same! The last time I wore it was in 2004. I hope your New Year has started with a blast!

Girl I love you but you need to do something with your brows to make the more flattering for you gorgeous face. I would recommend letting them grow in and then having them threaded and reshaped. Thicker, fuller brows would so suit your gorgeous retro look. You are beautiful and amazingly stylish.

Hahaha, wow--that coat IS extremely similar to the one in the Ralph Lauren ad. What a neat thing to have! The only thing my gramma gives me are her old broken butter dishes. That I don't want. Le'sigh.
