Week Of Vintage: Green and Gold

Dress: Thrifted {similar here - love this!}
Heels: Vintage {similar here}
Purse: Vintage {try here}
Pin: Vintage, belonged to my grandmother
Pearl Earrings: Gift from my mom {similar here and here}
Bracelet: thanks to INPINK {here}
Ring: Avon, vintage {similar here and here}
Nails: Chanel "June" {here}
Lips: MAC "Viva Glam I" {here}

I found this cute dress at an antique store when I was at the beach a few weeks ago. It was with a rack of vintage clothing and is hand-made. It was marked for $25 and I asked the saleslady if there was a discount. She told me 15 and I assumed she meant 15%, but she meant $15 - what a great score! Though the style is vintage, and no doubt a vintage pattern, the fabric and zipper are new which makes me think it was made recently. Originally there were 3 bows at the bottom of the skirt, but I didn't like them there and removed them. I sewed 2 of them onto the shoulders.

I also remember finding this gold brocade clutch in an antique store when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure my mom thought it was ugly, but I didn't see the stains, dirt, and faded rhinestones! It's stuck around for all these years and I still pull it out occasionally (though, admittedly, it could use a cleaning).

I hope you're enjoying the Week of Vintage. Tomorrow I'm sharing my thrifting tips!

WOW, BROCADE DRESS! YOU DON'T GET THIS A LOT ANYMORE. MY MOM USED TO HAVE SOME NICE PIECES BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM, NOT LIKE I CAN FIT INTO THEM AS SHE WAS A LOT SMALLER THAN ME BACK THEN.. LOVE THE CLUTCH TOO.
