Week Of Vintage: Mod Floral

Dress: Vintage, altered {DIY here}
Heels: I. Magnin, vintage {last seen here}
Clutch: Vintage {similar here}
Earrings: Made by me from vintage components {DIY here}
Bracelet: Asos {similar here}
Sunglasses: Tom Ford "Anouk" {similar here and here}
Nails: OPI "Pedal Faster Suzi" {here}
Lips: MAC "Chatterbox" {here}

At last, with the hips expanded and the waist narrowed, I can share with you this wonderful vintage dress I worked on. I happened to be in the right place at the right time when I stumbled across this dress in a vintage shop - the entire store was 50% off so I scored this dress for only $15! Another fabulous deal, eh? It's definitely a '60s shift dress, straight through the waist and hips, and the fabric belt is supposed to be tied under the bust - empire waist. But alas, it's 2012, not 1960, and my body isn't straight through the hips and waist by any means. So altering it and changing the belt position makes it work for my body and modern times.

I hope you enjoyed this week of vintage themed posts. It's been my pleasure to share these wonderful fashions with you!

What a strikingly beautiful, fresh, marvelous look. The sixties and I rarely jive fashion wise, but my word they look sublime on you, dear gal!

I really appreciate that you are taking vintage and making it modern. I've only just (like last week) gotten into thrifting so I'm excited to see other people's tricks of how to make pieces work for them.
