Happy Monday friends! If you read personal style blogs as much as I do, you've probably seen or heard of eShakti, the online retailer who offers affordable, customizable clothing. This company allows customers to easily tailor any item to their specific requirements ensuring a flattering fit. You can choose standard sizing or input your own measurements and for many items, you can choose what length hem, sleeve type, or neckline you might like. And it's affordable - most garments I perused were under $80. The company makes and ships the clothes from India and I received my package in about one week from placing the order.

On to this particular dress - I browsed the site intermittently for about two weeks before deciding what to order. I've always loved polka dots and since they're currently on trend, I thought this cute dress would be a great choice. I selected customizable sizing and offered my own measurements. As for the dress style, I chose ever-so-slightly different sleeves than what was offered (inset cap instead of cap) and I chose 'above the knee' length (important in petites for lengthening the leg line). I've been making clothing since I was a kid and always, always look at construction details when deciding on garment quality. This dress is made very nicely - even better than I was expecting. The cotton is substantial and the polka dots are embroidered onto the fabric instead of printed, as are the stripes in the belt. At last, I don't have to hem a garment, which was one of the perks of selecting the customizable sizing option (an additional $7.50 added to the cost of the garment). There's also plenty of fabric in the pleated skirt, so no shortcuts there. And to be picky about the small details, I noticed the dots in the bodice were practically perfectly matched from side to side. My last bit of garment praise is pockets - ah, pockets!

As for the negatives, I didn't have much at all. My only suggestion would be to make the belt removable instead of attached to the dress. Wouldn't this be cute with a skinny red patent belt? And related to that, because the belt is attached, it added a lot of bulk to the zipper at the waistline. I had a hard time getting the invisible zipper past the belt when zipping.

All in all, my expectations were exceeded. The fit was awesome, the construction was great, and I feel cute in my dress. What more could I want? If you want to learn more, check out eShakti online!

*Please note, this dress was sent to me for review, but the opinions expressed are my own.
