Kitchen Progress: Reveal!

For my last post of 2013, I can finally post my finished kitchen (well, 98% finished...close enough). This has been such a long project, and one that I'm glad to have behind me. The major work was done in August of this year, but the small details took a few more months to get together (see the process here). My budget was $10k, and after doing the tile work myself, I came in roughly $400 UNDER budget! This was a complete overhaul - the entire kitchen was demolished including all cabinets, appliances, tile, flooring, plumbing, and lighting. You can see in the before shots how dark and dreary this place was - with north facing windows and minimal natural light, I had to brighten up the space. I chose white cabinets for that reason alone. I knew I wanted a solid countertop (this is Caesarstone Quartz), an undermount sink, a counterdepth fridge, the microwave repositioned over the stove, under-cabinet lighting, and cabinets that went all the way to the ceiling. I think I would like to add crown moulding to the ceiling/wall with the door, and I still need to fix some baseboard issues. Next, I have to save up more money for the bathrooms!
